My childhood was spent in a rural area of Huron County, in the thumb of Michigan. We enjoyed 160 acres of open air to romp and play. My family enjoys very fond memories of those times.

I graduated from Bad Axe High School and then attended a smaller private college in SW Michigan for my undergraduate work. Upon graduation, I spent 6 years teaching math or science to middle school children.

I married Jerold Smith and we first settled in Virginia. His work, underwater construction, then took us to 17 different addresses. We settled then in the Grand Rapids area after all those moves. During that time I also completed 4 more years in education. In Grand Rapids we became self-employed in the diving industry starting up a company named Great Lakes Diving.

During those years when we moved, our two daughters were born, Richelle and Samantha. They adjusted well to moving, as Mom and Dad did, and they began looking forward to meeting new friends down the road. These moves included the states of Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, California, and a 4 1/2 year stay in Scotland. My youngest, Samantha, was born there.

My career was on hold somewhat when the children were little. Jerry's job sometimes entailed long absences from home. I completed two masters during the period of 1985 and 1986, one a Masters in Business Administration see here and one a Masters in School Administration.

When we moved to Grand Rapids, I found myself in a large marketing area. My career in Real Estate was realized and is being realized every day as people contact me for business. My website has made a large contribution in putting my name before the public.
